Synopsis
Two military pilots are close friends, and share in a lot of hazardous missions while engaging in a series of good-natured romantic rivalries. But when one of the pilots loses a girl he really cared for, he cannot forgive his friend. Soon afterwards, they must work together on their most dangerous mission yet.

Jimmy's little brother in his film debut shows why Bill stuck to being Jimmy Cagney's manager and occasional producer of his films. Two pilots love the same girl. She falls for one of them. They take a high altitude balloon ride to study the stratosphere with scientific instruments. A big storm hits the balloon as they are descending but then the gas release valve sticks...

Very little comedy, intentional or otherwise, here. A few wink, wink, nudge, nudge, comments that might have been worth a smirk in 1934. Mostly it's two guys competing for one girl who isn't worth the fuss. If you wondered what James Cagney's sometimes-actor brother looked like, he's here.
