An inspiring film that captures the energy of the moment. I was pleasantly surprised that the interviews are primarily with women! Women are at the center of squatting and housing struggles. The scenes of home improvement and social life in the squats tells the story of daily life outside of the flashpoints of confrontation. Despite adversity and eviction, the film ends with optimism and momentum. These problems haven't gone away in NYC, and while times have certainly changed, this film is a reminder of a strong history that can inform the present. Very glad it was made!
