...and have ever since I saw it on a saturday afternoon on an Atlanta local station. People often call movies like this "bad" simply because of low production values. But when you consider the budgets Corman had, and weigh them against the entertainment he sqeezed from it, his films were better than most of the $100 million movies that clutter the multiplexes today. What a strange movie! From the moment I saw the secret agent putting a false beard under his nose I knew, that this is no horror movie, this is fun. And fun it was! A previous reviewer mentioned that some scenes appear to be a Bogart/Hepburn/African Queen parody, and he is right. But we have a "Creature from the Black Lagoon" parody also and I think with a more analytic viewing one could easily find more references to other movies. I suppose the Age of the Drive-In Movie needs some explaining here. Once Upon a Time, when the soil was brown and the air WASN'T, there were Drive-In Theaters EVERYWHERE. And sometimes a teenage boy (and his girl) and maybe another couple or two, would pool their dough and take in the show at these places. There were snack bars for the food, smoking was allowed (why not?
