Synopsis

The Girl in Lovers' Lane is a 1960 American film directed by Charles R. Rondeau following the adventures of two drifters who get involved with the residents of the little town of Sherman. The working title of the film was The Young and the Damned. It was released by Filmgroup as a double feature with The Wild Ride.

Pretty darned good-though not great, well worth it though. Good acting and a nearly plausible plot make it work. It was almost like "Jimmy Olsen Rides the Rails" (No, there's no such film). Some of it was just a bit too white-bread to totally buy into, but other parts were too gritty and a bleak commentary on human nature, the result being a good enough balance of the two to make it a winner.

The acting in most of this movie is excellent and it makes me wonder why they gave it such a crappy title. The script had potential to be pretty good, but was ruined with some of the sleezy parts and the ending is a bit more than I cared to stomach, but I made it. Still this isn't that bad of a movie. Danny is a drifter or wannabe drifter who gets robbed in the beginning, but Bix comes to the rescue and gives his money back and the two hook up and land in the small town of Sherman where Bix falls for the girl Carrie working in a dinner. Carrie falls head over heels, but Bix wants to leave.…
