★★★★★ · EF-5 Educational Film No. 5 Well Made Film about Patriotism · Chuckeroo-Rodeo · 2008-02-18

I've had an excellent quality print of "It's Your America" for many years and have yet to see a film that deals with the subject matter so well. Starring Arthur Kennedy ("Peyton Place", "Lawrence of Arabia" and many other titles) and (probably) directed by John Ford, this film was shown to soldiers departing service immediately after World War II. It is well scripted and features several recognizable character actors of the late 30s and 40s, most notably Walter Sande of "To Have and Have Not". ★★★★ · Name Of "Strange Looking Actor" · MrMovie · 2005-05-27

That strange looking actor is Arthur Kennedy. Some of you may recall that he played the older brother of Frank Sinatra in the film "Some Came Running." As a character actor he also appeared in at least a dozen classic film noir movies including 1949s "Too Late For Tears" which was directed by Byron Haskin and starred Dan Duryea, Lizabeth Scott, Don Defore and Kristine Miller along with Kennedy. (By The Way, "Too Late For Tears" is a PD Film and if you've never seen it and are into film noir try finding a copy -- it's an excellent film)

★★★ · Find A penny, pick it up.. · Spuzz · 2003-09-11

Somewhat interesting and historical outlook on Why We Went To War, and what the penny really means. featuring one strange looking actor. We first join the man as he is sailing home from the front, and then starts telling us about how he got there.. Flashback time! He starts out finiding a penny, and closely looking at it, and then wondering what all of it means. As his war experience continues, he meets different men telling him about each part of the penny, and how that ties in to what we are doing in the war. Good premise, ok acting, some curious homo-erotic shots, makes for a passable film.
