Synopsis

Traces the history of England from the Norman invasion in 1066 to the crowning of King John in 1199, dramatizing incidents in the reign of King Arthur, Henry I, Stephen of Blois, Henry Plantagenet, and Richard the Lionheart. Explains how the background of feudalism sets the scene for the meeting at Runnymede, which resulted in the drafting of the Magna Carta. Filmed at Runnymede, England.
