Synopsis

Part II of director John Barnes’ four-part opus on Oedipus the King, by Sophocles. Through the revelation of the character of Oedipus, Bernard Knox is able to present the play as a kind of detective story that deals with the old religion of Greece and the new ideas that were challenging it. Selected scenes from the play show the actions and motives of Oedipus.
