Synopsis
London, 1888: on the night of the third Jack the Ripper killing, soft-spoken Mr. Slade, a research pathologist, takes lodgings with the Harleys, including a gloomy attic room for "experiments." Mrs. Harley finds Slade odd and increasingly suspects the worst; her niece Lily (star of a decidedly Parisian stage revue) finds him interesting and increasingly attractive. Is Lily in danger, or are her mother's suspicions merely a red herring?

Good print & Sound. It's a fine romp of a story. Young Jack Palance carries the movie through with his strange personality and trademark mannerisms. Constance Smith is beautiful and perfectly cast. Rhys Williams plays the same character he always did and did well. Mrs. Harley is portrayed by Frances Bavier aka Aunt Bea from the Andy Griffith Show. But that is not Judy Dench playing Daisy the maid, that is actress Tita Phillips. Thank you, IA, for another good one.

Actually some well known English character actors. Strange movie but atmospheric.

I suffered through this, despite Dr Feel Rotten's warning. The ending looks as though the producers ran out of money, stopping the story before it could achieve resolution. Had I paid money to see this film, I would have been very angry indeed. 1 star is more than this movie deserves.
