Pattern for Smartness (1948)

The uncredited narrator sounds like Bob Trout, but I can't picture why he'd be part of a low-budget industrial film. The only thing high school about this film is the level of acting. Johnny's expressionless face when Betty asks him about her new dress is hilarious. Betty was once a schlump with bad skin and a spread of something-or-other like Babe Ruth, but that changed thanks to dress patterns. In mid-film, imaginary high-school girls show up in Betty's home to make a dress. Women applaud a fashion show. They're outside, but the sound effect clapping is clearly recorded from inside a room. I don't think the modern women has the time to make their own clothing anymore. The models were pretty, and the outfits cute, regardless that the fashions were from sixty years ago(but that's just my opinion.Unless you like making dresses, a big segment of this film didn't interest me.
