Intriduced by Elmer Linsett, the head honcho of the Illuminating company, "The Power To Serve" (great title!) details the company's commitment to cover the power needs of everyone in this, the 'greatest location in the nation' (this is repeated endlessly so we will get the idea.). After his booming speech (btw get some new curtains Elmer!) The illuminating company is then shown how they get power to begin with (great shot of a coal carrying railcar being topsy turveyed, how it's relayed, and finally how Mr and bad acting Mrs Smith can use the electricity to continually turn things on and off…

Somewhat mediocre industrial film by the local power company essentially taking credit for the local economy. Somewhat boring, but there are interesting parts such as the the tree blown into the lines, the dude working as a machinist, and so on.
