With the always underrated Irene Rich in the cast, this had to be an outdoor drama/womans' picture and it is. Ms Rich is quite good in her only venture to the Monogram Studios. Based on a Jack London story, the picture drags mid-way through, but wins in the end. It's beginning is a little Capra-esque like "Lady For A Day", but doesn't pursue it. Charles Bickford is fine and this may be a bring down from working with Greta Garbo but he's a pro. June Carlson as the ingénue was on loan from 20th Century Fox where she was in a long string of "Jones Family" features and very sharp for her age.…
