Synopsis
Several servicemen relax by playing pool, but one of them goes off to spend time with a prostitute. Later, he discovers he has contracted a venereal disease. A graphic and frank presentation of the types and treatment of venereal disease follows. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation in 2007.

Loved it. Great piece of history/nostalgia. I particularly love seeing these short films produced by the government during WWII that were NOT shown to the public. If anyone knows of any other "Eyes Only" films from WWII, please let me know.

I'll divide this one into serious thoughts versus comedic.... SERIOUS... While the prevention and treatment modalities depicted are obsolete, this appears to have been an excellent awareness film during the time in which it was produced. The factor of presenting VD as a medical issue instead of as a disciplinary matter in military medicine was quite innovative in 1941. COMEDIC assessment.... Mike Judge probably saw this somewhere along the way, or knew someone who did. Probably influential in Hank Hill's narrow urethra as a bar to military service!

This is certainly one film that John Ford did not include on his resume'. I understand that this film was used by the Army for decades, although I do not recall seeing it when I joined in 1971. Interesting to to see George Reeves (TV's Superman) and Robert Lowery (Batman in the serial Batman and Robin) in the same scene.

A good movie, Blocked for a few years, but now up and running. I guess those GI's didn't agree to have their not-so-private private parts released to the public. (Actually the title "Sex Hygiene" had me thinking this was gonna be about vinegar douche, cleaning smegma out of one's redundant foreskin, how to launder sex towels, and stuff like that - but it gets way more involved)
