This is what you might call the "after" film corresponding to the incredible "Trip Down Market Street" (file TripDown1905) shot few years earlier. Obviously made by the same person, this film retains its predecessor's great power through the simplicity and effectiveness of its design. To make things even more interesting and confusing, another film is available at the archive on the same subject: SanFranc1906_2. First 50 seconds is from a camera mounted on a vehicle, probably the Fillmore streetcar, headed north on Fillmore from between Golden Gate and Turk, and ending at Eddy St. There is a busy street scene, including some tents set up along the street that might be pop up cafes or food stands.
