Synopsis
Husky Stone (Ray Mayer), strongest man in the Navy, and as short on brains as he is as long on muscle, has an urge to get married, as his enlistment is up. The object of his affection is Myrtle Montrose (Isabal Jewell), a typical "Sweetheart of the Navy." Seeking to discourage Husky's plans is his pal, Pete Kelly (Wallace Ford), who uses Husky to fight his battles and do his work. Pete frames Husky and he is confined to the brig, as their ship docks in San Francisco. Pete goes ashore, courts…

Although the plot is thin, continuity is flawed in many scenes, and the ending is hard to suspend disbelief in, this film has many redeeming qualities. The B-roll of the peacetime navy was interesting to see. Isabel Jewell is always nice to watch even in a badly directed performance like this. So sad that she was typecast as a lower class floosie so often. She did give memorable performances in Gone With The Wind and Tale of Two Cities but could not make the leap to leading lady. Her later career was a struggle and she finally died alone and broke at age 63 (of "natural causes").
