Even making allowance for its production date (1934), this is an incredibly hokey murder mystery with a convoluted, utterly absurd plot. The acting by much of the cast is nothing to write home about. Nevertheless it's a lot of fun… er, mostly for all the wrong reasons. Mischa Auer, Louise Beavers and Jason Robards (Sr.) appear in minor roles. Directed by Mrs. Wallace Reid. Print quality is fair. Five minutes are missing, but this doesn't significantly affect the whacky plot. CAST NOTE: Mischa Auer is billed as Mischa Aver.

This film is very poor - bad script & amateur acting - compared to all the great films that were released in 1934 like It Happened One Night, The Thin Man, The Man Who Knew Too Much, L'Atalante, etc. This is light entertainment similar to Bulldog Drummond episodes or Charlie Chan movies.
