Bee's Buzz (1929)

If your idea of comedy is having a bee hive fall into someone's pants, this movie is for you. Mack Sennett was best known for his silent comedies. This movie obviously has it's roots in the silent movies, complete with a "car stuck on the railroad tracks" scene. Somehow, a car narrowly avoiding a train is a bit more impressive when you know that no special effects were used, and that the car was made in 1929.

This movie will appeal to 2 types of people !..The Sophisticates, as representes by television,s Frasier and his brother. Between giggles,they will be sneering and saying "so this is what the common people like" 2..People without pretensions. They will know this film requires an audience. So with a few friends, a barbeque meal and some beers(or whatever) they will have some hearty laughs as they watch this 20 minute ,75 year old crazy comedy

An acquired taste, especially for old school silent comedy. As in all these shorts;bizarre, weird, surreal, makes no sense BUT entertaining as hell. Worth watching if you're into this humor....

Wacky Mack Sennett comedy from the early sound era involving an elopement, a chase by an angry father and a rival suitor, a cow costume, a car stalling on the railroad tracks, a justice of the peace in a steam cabinet, some golfers, and a beehive that goes down the rival suitorÂs pants. Many of the individual gags fall flat, but the overall silliness of the proceedings and the fast pace make this pretty amusing anyway. There is a real 20s feeling to this film, which is rare in a sound film. Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: ***. Weirdness: ****. Historical Interest: *****. Overall Rating: ***.
