Synopsis
A motley collection of guests and regulars at a country hotel are anxious one dark and stormy night when they hear by a radio news bulletin that a dangerous criminal has just broke jail and is headed their way. A surly mystery man answering the description shows up, and then hides out in a nearby barn.

A notice at the end of this short (20 minutes) film states that it has been approved by the Pennsylvannia State Board of Censors,so it must be ok.(The Penn Censor compiled a list of Banned Words.Words such as "hell-cat" must not be used.) I found the FILM quite entertaining It is low budget from the Mack Sennet Studios and owes much to the film editor who later worked on many great hollywood films. A pleasant 20 minutes.

Short and sweet. It was fun trying to figure out who everyone really is. Unpredictable ending. I took off one star for one character's annoying voice and because he sang.

this ( to me) was a very interesting movie for a couple of different reasons. first, its neat to see the styles of the 20s in a talking movie. i wish there were more of them! second, the jokes are just bad! theyre so bad it actually makes them funny... and lastly, its just a fun little movie! my favorite kind...

One silly entertaining short film from Mac Sennett in a style which straddles silent and talking pictures. Bad jokes and overacting characteristic of the silents mixed with silly characters and a barely there plot with a twisted ending. Lots of fun for some, wish I was somewhere else for others.
