BEWARE! The first two reels as shown here are chopped and missing dialogue, HOWEVER! If you're streaming video you can move forward to the point where the first two reels are repeated from a much better print and the rest of the film is of good quality. This is the "standard" Hoot Gibson with his "I'm just a country bumpkin" routine on the flip side of his "man of action" routine. It's a winning formula for him and he plays it well. The rest of the cast is all professional, even the ingenue. Story isn't bad either. If you only see one Hoot Gibson film, this one shown-cases his pleasant…

It's choppy in the beginning, and one scene is repeated. But get beyond that and it's a good movie to watch.

Or Zorro. A guy (Hoot Gibson) plays at being a wimp or fop in the daytime, and rides to the rescue at night. Actually, Gibson plays it almost a little mentally slow, as well as foppish. It's kind of painful to see him acting so weak-kneed and cowardly, even knowing it's an act. This theme has been done many times, and this is a little more kiddy-movie than Gibson's norm, but it's still great fun. I still love seeing the bad guys get what's coming to them.
