Perhaps Jake is suffering from BPD that is Borderline Personality Defect, which manifests itself as a constant need to complain. This condition may have been brought about by the fact that as a child Jake was accidentally dropped on his head. This coupled with the fact that he was being beat up by the girls in his school may explain why he was always complaining about everything. At home without a legitimate father, when Jake complained his step uncle would come out of Jake's mom's room and beat him. This went on for years, sometime the step uncles were different but the beatings were not.…

This is another "discussion film," like The Grapevine. Jake, a machinist with a Canadian accent, has a lot of complaintsÂÂthe light's too dim, his feet hurt, etc. His foreman tries to be accommodating, but no dice. Jake finally tells him his real beefÂÂhe thinks he's being given all the tough jobs and none of the easy ones. The foreman tries to tell him that the jobs he's been assigned are no tougher than what anyone else has to do, but Jake doesn't believe him. So he goes and files a complaint with the union that he's being discriminated against, for being Canadian, I guess. What's the poor…
