Synopsis

In 1841, young Ishmael signs up for service aboard the Pequod, a whaler sailing out of New Bedford. The ship is under the command of Captain Ahab, a strict disciplinarian who exhorts his men to find Moby Dick, the great white whale. Ahab lost his leg to that creature and is desperate for revenge. As the crew soon learns, he will stop at nothing to gain satisfaction.

This is a very great movie for it's time and even our time still, Gregory peck as captain ahab is the best sea captain that you will ever see keeps you interested till the very end and Harry Andrews as a mate both clearly steal the show commanding entertainment as the doomed voyage sail's closer to its final resting place to battle the greatest creature of the deeps. A masterpiece ending to conclude this magnificent performances of the late great actors! Ahabs performance Reminds me of charlton heston in moses. It's so interesting that it's over before you know it
