Mr. Reckless (1948)

This little drama from the Paramount Pictures "B" unit of Pine-Thomas is another in their blue-collar series of adventures that they were doing in the late 40's. This film has little pieces of other films woven into its fabric. "The Postman Always Rings Twice" or "Ossessione" come to mind. This love triangle film has the sharp edges blunted by the prevailing "code", but it's still a reflection of post-war America in many ways. The bland Mr. Eythe had no "star" power and is mis-cast at that. Ms. Britton played her usual virginal self when the part really called for somebody a little more…

These are the days of our lives....well not mine, but maybe yours if you're stuck in 1948. Kind of corny, but easy to watch..simple plot with a few twists here and there, but an easy one to watch..No real shockers in this one except I really expected a slightly different ending even though I'd seen this before several times on late night TV.
