Synopsis
In order to help bring Nazis to justice, U.S. government agent T.R. Devlin recruits Alicia Huberman, the American daughter of a convicted German war criminal, as a spy. As they begin to fall for one another, Alicia is instructed to win the affections of Alexander Sebastian, a Nazi hiding out in Brazil. When Sebastian becomes serious about his relationship with Alicia, the stakes get higher, and Devlin must watch her slip further undercover.

One of my favorite Hitchcock films, and one of my faves from the 1940s. Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant and Claude Rains are all superb. The "make out" scene with Grant and Bergman on the balcony in Rio is quite hot, IMO! Hitch got around the production code by having a few seconds of kissing, a few seconds of dialogue, kissing, dialogue, etc. The censors couldn't demand it be changed, and it made for a very erotic scene. I love the scene when Rains realizes he's married to a spy, and his mother's reaction! I find it interesting that the inference was that Bergman would sleep with Rains (though…
