Synopsis
Teenager Betty Elliott has decided to take over the business and social affairs of her father Doc Elliott. She thinks her father should marry the widowed mother, Julie Harper, of her boyfriend Chris Harper. "How "They" used to make 'em". A little on the sappy side, but totally entertaining with something for everyone. Romance for both young and old. Animals and a persnickity, little trouble maker to entertain the children and a crusty old curmudgeon for the grump among you. An old fashioned film full of meaning and values. A winner.

Sort of a disjointed Robert Altmanesque (well, not really) episodic little tale about teenagers growing up in a small town and facing small town problems. You know, swimming, education, stupid kids, dead dogs, the gamut. The whole movie focuses on one kid, who recently left school to take a great oppurtunity at a local market, but then has second thoughts when a lot of people want him to go back so he could finish his high school and continue on to be a vetenarian.
