Synopsis

Steve Hannigan, joins the police force as a rookie after his father, a veteran policeman, has been murdered by a bomb placed by racketeers. Steve intends to find the gang-leader responsible for his father's death. He frequents gangster hangouts, searching for a clue, and starts to neglect his Police-school classes, where he is training under the supervision of his sweetheart's father, Captain Casey. He temporarily loses his police badge, but continues his quest.

Under it's original title, "I Take This Oath", this film was the first release by PRC (Producers Releasing Corp) after the name change from Producers Distributing Corp, and it's not bad at all, especially when you consider it was produced by Sig. Neufeld and directed by his brother Sam Newfield under his alias Sherman Scott. Gordon Jones coming off the success of the serial "The Green Hornet" is surprisingly good and shows a wide range of emotions and gives a perfectly natural and engageing performance. Maybe good direction helped. Newfield was not known for good as much as he was for fast…

The movie is as devoid of plot details as any I've seen. We never know what sort of criminal activity is involved or how anyone is involved - just a rookie cop on a mission to find out who dunnit. Btw, the previous review contains a spoiler, not that it matters.
