I may be biased, but i just love the cartoons from the 30-40-50's... So this one is a nice addition to my growing collection ! However, the correct title is 'Ancient Fistory'. Great stuff !

A Cinderella like tale in which Olive is the princess and Popeye is the prince. Bluto is the shopowner brute who bullies Olive, only to get taught a lesson by a buff, spinach-eating Prince Popeye. Animation by Al Eugster and William B. Pattengill, story by Irving Spector, scenics by Robert Connavale, and music by Winston Sharples. Produced in 1952.

Popeye plays Cinderella in this gender-reversed version of the tale, with Olive Oyl as the princess giving the ball, and Bluto as PopeyeÃÂs employer and rival. PopeyeÃÂs fairy godfather changes a can of spinach into a limousine that will change back at midnight. Popeye wins OliveÃÂs heart, but Bluto butts in and foils Popeye with a cannon. Fortunately, at midnight, PopeyeÃÂs limo turns back into a can of spinach, which Popeye is able to use with the usual results. As it sounds here, this is a pretty wacked-out version of Cinderella, but thatÃÂs the great thing about cartoonsÃÂÃÂthey can do…

this gets fairly boring fairly quickly. the animations not great. I love popeyes voice, olive oils head....and the holes the cannonball makes, but the story we know too well and seeing popeye outside is normal setting doesnt do him much good. there must be better popeyes around here somewhere.......................................
