This one is really just too hilarious to miss. Please pass the mashed potatoes. I really just want to party with this wildcat! There's a little of this guy in all of us and everyone knows it. This PSA from the late 1960's-early 1970's was actually part of a longer film entitled "Drink, Drive, Rationalize." It was made in the mid 1960's by AAA to try to warn their members against drinking and driving. Strangely enough, it's one of the more saner scenarios of the film. Weird is a good way to describe this one. I think this is one of those cases where the writers thought "Just get the message across, don't care about how." Bad acting from the actors doesn't help either.

Were I aware of this misconception, I may have attempted to behave as it dictated. Thus, my ignorance has spared me the consequences. A wonderful period piece, which evokes that peculiar sensibility of commercials and PSAs of the 1970s. The gluttony on display is disgusting, yet simultaneoulsy compelling. Little did the denizens of that distant decade suspect that the bacchanal would end, that the indulgence so freely promoted would destroy not only the body and mind, but the insurance rates as well. I remember seeing this movie in drivers ed in the mid-80s. It was part of a , with skits like the drunk plowing his car thru a diner and another car getting stuck over a rising bridge. It always ended with someome saying to the careless driver, "Sure, mac, sure." I could only think of one thing while wathcing: who calls anyone "mac"? Who called anoyone "mac" during the time this was filmed? Whenever I hear someone say "mac", I ususally look for a TV, becuase the only time I've ever heard it is from the New York cabbies in the old movies or old TV shows, with the yellow cab hats, the leather…
