The threat from Dr. Zorka (Bela Lugosi) continues to grow as Zorka reveals the secret of his power to his assistant, Monk (Jack C. Smith). For film fans there is a fun moment during this exposition as we see scenes of the discovery of this "mystery element". It is all reused footage from THE INVISIBLE RAY (1936) and when we get a glimpse of Zorka through his facemask as he is being lowered into the crater we are actually looking at the eyes of Boris Karloff).
