Synopsis

Very instructive documentary on linking Turkestan to Siberia. Shows the crops, the animals, and the challenges of the people of Central Asia. Very limited narration but the filming is great. Divided into several Acts, summarizes the transportation difficulties across the great extensions of land and the different ways of living from the city to a tent in Siberia. It shows workers from tending the grain crops and the cotton crops to sheep hearding, camel caravans transporting those crops through different terrains. Then come the surveyors and after that the mapping of the land and the projects…
