Synopsis
How silicon carbide is made: coke, sand, sawdust and salt are fed into electric furnaces, workers crush the crystal masses and cast grinding wheels, and an old man first seen at a sand grindstone ends working at a carborundum one. The Dutch copy ends with a cartoon of Kaiser Wilhelm II's nose held to a grindstone.
