A kind and gentle cartoon is this one and keeping with the sweet Betty Boop way of being.The reality at the time was Japan was murdering Chinese people like there was no tomorrow,sad to say.The horrors lasted until the end of WWII.

Amazing - Betty decides to go leave the U.S. and once in her one-seat airplane, decides to go to Japan - and off she goes, just like that. She gets there, the crowds are waiting and fill the theater. Considering that black Americans were always portrayed as stereotyped images, the Japanese populace are given rather realistic features - good-looking men and women. Betty sings her song in English and then, wonder of wonders, dons a kimono, and switches over to, evidently, real Japanese words, The Fleischers were way ahead of their time. She heads home, loaded down with presents, a happy girl.
