Synopsis
When Len Stoddard wins Ted Ames ranch in a poker game he sends his brother Jake along with Ted to take over the ranch. When Jake is found murdered he offers a reward for the capture of Ted who now is believed to be a member of the Black Aces gang. Ted finds the probable location of the gang's hideout and sets out to clear himself.

Buck Jones was a holdover from when the Leammle's lost Universal Pictures to a group that took over the studio as "The New Universal" which included segments of Monogram after their short merger with Republic, and other independents on Poverty Row. Jones produced his own films and they were consistent money makers. with good budgets, good scripts, good production values, good actors and good distribution. Not a bad western, just nothing special as it has a typical plot involving seemingly honest besinessmen who are very crooked, trying to take control of someone else's land by any means. The only thing different here is that Buck Jones plays a sort of not-too-bright, carefree and careless, with no head for business cowboy who gets caught up in the takeover plot as a murder suspect. He then has to solve the murder mystery, which leads to solving the illegal larger land takeover scheme. The one thing ithe film has going for it is that the action is non-stop.
