Synopsis
Joan Terry, from Kansas City, comes to New York to get a job on the stage. But until she finds an opportunity, she stays at a boarding house where other talent is also waiting. To get a better chance, the people there decide to build a talent pool, where the person with the most chances for a job gets the full support, trying to get jobs for the others there too - and Joan is chosen to do that. But this is not so easy when her fiance is trying to keep her away from the stage...

I love this smart, snappy, easy movie. And what is not to like about Frances Langford and her dimple--- and Edward Norris (mmmmm). It is funny, sweet and I love the smile Steve gives James toward the end.

A second-feature musical centered on a theatrical rooming house for women. To say the plot is loaded with Hollywood musicals clichés would be an understatement. I don't think they missed a single one. This PRC offering may be a mini-musical, but it does have 11/2 production numbers. The songs are less than memorable. Good singer and adequate actress Frances Langford stars, strongly supported by Iris Adrian. The large cast also features Edward Norris, Alec Craig and mystery girl Judy Clark (a cute blond with a few lines and one dance appearance). Good production values and competent direction.…
