Fugitive of the Plains is a 1943 American Producers Releasing Corporation Western film of the "Billy the Kid" series directed by Sam Newfield. In April 1947 PRC re-released the film as a "streamlined" (edited) "Bronco Buckaroo" version titled Raiders of Red Rock.

See Crabbe ride, see St. John rant. Ride Crabbe ride, rant St. John rant. One of 13 PRC films featuring Buster Crabbe (Billy the Kid) and Al St. John (Fuzzy Q. Jones). In this sub par film, Crabbe goes after a gang whose leader claims to be Billy the Kid but, turns out to be a beautiful gutsy woman who seems to totally mesmerize Crabbe. He goes on and on trying to convince her to give up her life of crime, which she confesses she enjoys. And some life - in the scenes leading up to the start of the film proper, we see many instances of arson and there are, no doubt, many robberies and murders…

This is a typical Buster Crabbe - Al St. John entry. If you've read other reviews by me of them, you know I generally like them. However this one has so many snippets (frames) missing through-out the entire film it's partly incoherent. Maxine Leslie is fine as a lady bandit with a larger than usual supporting cast of familiar faces. The missing dialogue just ruins it for me. Watch if you must but you've been warned.
