Synopsis
Invasion of the Bee Girls is a 1973 American science-fiction thriller film directed by Denis Sanders from a screenplay written by Nicholas Meyer, and starring William Smith, Anitra Ford and Victoria Vetri. In the film, a mad scientist (Ford) uses radiation-mutated bee serum to create an army of female beauties who seduce men to death. One by one, the male victims are killed before the local police catch on to the plans of the infected females.

Man oh Man !! this movie is off the hook !! The Bee Girls are hot !!! And the story is decent. It's an interesting concept kind of horror scifi mix. The highlight of the movie is when they show how they change a regular woman into a Bee girl. This is well worth watching !!

So much to praise . . . But the end credit sequence, camera going to the bees in the flowers to the strains of Thus Spake Zarathustra (think 2001: A Space Odyssey), that was really funny in a "The End??" sort of way.

There is light female nudity in this but I wouldn't characterize that as softcore pornography. If this were even a softcore porn film, the story would mandate that the movie be about 4 hours long at least (maybe a full 6 if it were hardcore). I believe the producers were conscious to not over do things in this so that they could market the film in the Southern US. The plot is a porn film plot. No question about that. This is like watching a 70's porn film with the sex scenes edited out for general commercial release, the difference is the acting is better in this. There's not much budget…

In 1974 in Coast Guard Boot Camp in Alameda, CA. After 10 weeks we were granted the right to go to the base theater to watch a movie. The movie the moral officer selected to show to 60 guys who had been locked up for 10 weeks was "The Invasion of the Bee Girls". I was surprised I was able to recall so many vivid details about the Bee Girls. I remember going back to the barricks looking forward to obtaining a top secret security clearace - just in case there were some Bee Girls still hanging around.,.
