Synopsis
Aging rancher and self-made man, George Washington McLintock is forced to deal with numerous personal and professional problems. Seemingly everyone wants a piece of his enormous farmstead, including high-ranking government men and nearby Native Americans. As McLintock tries to juggle his various adversaries, his wife—who left him two years previously—suddenly returns. But she isn't interested in George; she wants custody of their daughter.

The cast chosen for this film speaks volumes. I loved the late Yvone Decarlo in this film (later to play Lilly Munster) This is one of Wayne's most entertaining films.

I remember this movie at the theater, I was ten. Had a great time. Still enjoy this comedy! I always laugh when the Wife, sticks the guy with her hat pin! OUCH! That had to hurt!

In 1963, I saw this with my family for the first time on the big screen and what a house full of laughter this was! Yes, "the Duke" can be serious as an actor, but this was the best comedy that he ever played in. "sliding into that cement pond" It was an excellent movie to watch

Wayne and O'Hara shine as they did in "The Quiet Man". The ending is almost an homage to that same film. Along with the ref. to "Paddyfingers". Chill Wills and Edgar Buchanan are their 'Classic Selves".

One of John Wayne's film which one has to like. The role he plays and the problems he deals with and how they are solved after all is really nice to see. Though sometimes the jokes are a little bit overstreched and starts to bore a bit.
