Synopsis
It's Tulsa, Oklahoma at the start of the oil boom and Cherokee Lansing's rancher father is killed in a fight with the Tanner Oil Company. Cherokee plans revenge by bringing in her own wells with the help of oil expert Brad Brady and childhood friend Jim Redbird. When the oil and the money start gushing in, both Brad and Jim want to protect the land but Cherokee has different ideas. What started out as revenge for her father's death has turned into an obsession for wealth and power.

I've always enjoyed this film. Susan Hayward was a class act and a terrific actress. The story line is exciting and production values were excellent. Not really anything negative to say about it. Well worth seeing if you like adventure yarns.

If this movie is accurate to what happened in Glenpool Oklahoma, I might need to do some soil labs. This movie proves nothing has changed.

This movie has some timely aspects regarding the effects of oil wells and the environment which seem to have been forgotten by most. It only took the worst environmental disaster in US History to remind people that oil wells and life don't mix! Some funny parts to the movie, fairly typical, but better than most on the Archive.
