Well scripted and has professional actors so it makes a dull topic interesting. Honestly, a film of this length just about a "szary zhedik" (polo-russic for "ordinary Jew") schlepping bread all over town and I've actually watched it to the end now, at least four times (once on MST3K). Leave it to Jam Handy to come up with gems of enduring entertainment value (apparently, this time, made at the behest of DuPont's sales department.) I love this film. This, like most Jam Handy productions, is well made - even if you have no interest in selling baked goods. Along with selling techniques of the 1950s, it clearly depicts how simple life once was. I am curious to know who the actors were. The Devil is played by veteran actor Ralph Clanton. I recognized his voice while watching "Pharaoh's Curse" (1957), and went from there. But, I'd love to know who played personable Bill Dudley, the bread salesman, and "Whitey," the angel. Does anyone have any info.

This film would have us believe that both heaven and hell are extremely interested in the fortunes of bread truck drivers. A driver with a poor sales record recently repented and changed his evil ways, so the Devil of Bread Sales makes a bet with the Angel of Bread Sales that he will go back to his old habits if a pretty woman makes fun of him. So the angel poses as a magazine writer and goes with the bread man on his route, where she is taunted by the devil in various guises (cab driver, cop, etc.). This fun little film was made even better by the MST allusions to "organized wholesale bread crime"...."You want my coffee roll today? Be a shame if somethin' happened to your store"...getting the grocer to agree to more selling displays "Maybe I rough him up, maybe I bust his chops"...and my personal favorite: new shopping carts: "Be a shame if this ran over your kid". Watch out, it's the breadman!

One of the best shorts run on mst3k. The best line is after the driver says " Make sure a slip-up doesn't become a big trip up".. Then followed up byMike Nelson's line of "Make sure you stock your truck up so you don't......" Soooo funny
