★★★★ · A whole summer with City Slickers! · Spuzz · 2005-02-09
As the film opens on, I swear, the theme song to 'Oklahahoma!" we meet George and Betty, city slickers extraordinaire who spend a whole summer with Uncle Jim, Aunt Helen and their kids on their dairy farm. 2 of the 3, Andy and Jane, are at least normal somewhat, but the introduction to the other kid, Bill is introduced while cleaning cow udders which is.. a.. bit.. scary. Soon the boys are doing farmchores! tending the garden, feeding cows, minding the baby animals etc. The girls of course, stay indoors to help Aunt Helen most of the time. Very very light and reccomended. Bonus point, watch…

Fred and Alice get rid of their kids for a whole summer, dumping them on some relatives on a farm. The city kids start off by checking out the milking parlour where machines are connected to udders. And on it goes. The kids are entrusted with dialogue as the farm hands offer explanations. There is stock bridging music between scenes, as well as background music. Warning: little animal cuteness. Piglets, chicks, puppies and a milk-lapping kittens. This milk-lapping is paid for by the National Dairy Council. Because it's a Jam Handy film, there's a Chevrolet in it (1962 Impala).
