Danger Ahead (1935)

drew: This film had a lot of good fight scenes which were a lot less cheesy looking than typical for this era. Good stunts, good plot, and lots of fun. laura: I thought it was kinda funny. The sidekick 'fred' was really good. you have to have that kind of character. the physical comedy in some of the fight scenes is great. the guy going through the window made me laugh.

Danger Ahead is a pretty amusing crime drama that takes pains to either make things painfully obvious before they occur, or make things impossibly clueless and stupid that it becomes amusing. An old sea captain and his daughter go to a club to get the 40,000 dollars hes owed for the cago hes brought in. But unfortunately, the clubs owner, who brought the cargo in, has a scheme (with plenty of eyebrow raising) of robbing the man of his money. After knocking the guy senseless, a newspaper reporter, whos viewed all of this it seems from the table he was sitting at the club, rescues the money…

Great little film The plot is pretty good and all the actors do a fine job. I am adding an extra 'star' for the rating because Fred is so funny, especially about 15 minutes from the end when he's asleep and his gun accidently goes off and he wakes up saying "No you don't! No you don't!" Plus, the fight scene at the end is hilarious. Nice movie

I liked the movie, but... The robbery was set up so silly it defies description inside a phone booth with a false wall and glass door where any idiot could see it happening and just by shear coincidence the reporter just happened to be looking that way to see it go down and the fights, while pretty good I noticed guys getting knocked out with punches where the guy never puts the slightest bit of his weight into it and the real clincher in every ships fight scene is when the bad guy always decides to climb up the mast and then the good guy follows him. What I want to know is..WHY? He ain't…

specs; A fun film, lot of action crammed into an hour, and good fight scenes as well. It had Saturday at the movies written all over it!

Not good. Doesn't really have a beginning and doesn't really go anywhere either. Just a bunch of pro wrestlers that got together to show off their moves. The dialogue is weak and isn't delivered quickly enough, which leaves it feeling rhythmless.
