I finally figured out who Oscar and Elmer are, the are the alter egos of Lou Fulton. A character actor that assumed these names, or combinations of these names, in many B movies. Weird! Dick survives the crash landing by parachuting, just like in previous episodes. But at the end of this one the writers come up with a completely new idea. Dick crashes in a blimp.

If not just for the special effects. They have good miniatures that they work with and whoever was in charge of continuity did a great job, even when there are edits right in the middle of a bar fight, they kept in mind where things were flying in the air before going to the next clip so you see it flying in the air there too. @jimelena (a year later), Oscar and Elmer I believe were the 2 country guys driving along in chapter 3, Dick jumps onboard their car much to their surprise, and he jumps back off again a few minutes later.
