Synopsis
When Johnny and Mendez argue, the lights go out, and in the ensuing gunfight Johnny thinks he killed his friend Dick. Now refusing to wear a gun he crosses the border. But it is not long before he runs into Mendez and more trouble.

A more or less typical western of the period. Johnny Mack Brown is the epitome of the cowboy hero - handsome, lithe, a good horseman, a good shot, well-mannered, fair and law abiding. Here his character is interesting as he is guilt-ridden that he shot his best friend and refuses to wear a gun. However, that doesn't stop him from being a tough, two-fisted hombre. Claire Rochelle is okay - nothing special - as the spunky, gun-toting ranch owner that befriends and falls in love with Brown. Dick Curtis (whose villainous characters graced a number of Three Stooges shorts) is okay, but Ted Adams…
