Synopsis
Heading for Heaven is a 1947 American comedy film starring Stuart Erwin and Glenda Farrell. The film was directed by Lewis D. Collins and is based on the 1929 play For the Sake of the Family by Charles Webb and Daniel Brown. Made by Pathe Industries for release by the Producers Releasing Corporation. Many years ago my old man had a chance to buy an old broken down farm, but passed on it because all us kids were still little. Today there's a multi-billion dollar mall on that very farm and new freeway right beside it. He also had a chance to be the second company in the US to make printed circuit boards and passed on it for the same reason..A bunch of rug rats at home...The moral of the story..kick your kids out now (if you have any) while they still know everything.

Thuroughly enjoyed this film, taken from the play. Great character acting, stupid gags and shtick everywhere. But for what it is, it is watchable and every actor plays the role to a tee.

You might like it, it has lots of good actors, and is well made. Stewart Erwin, Milburn Stone, Irene Ryan, good cast. A good story too, but the writing tires me out. It's not really bad writing but it could be better.
