Synopsis
After Sheriff Ken puts money in the safe, his brother Clem gives Rawhide the combination. With the money gone the disgruntled townsmen make Boots Sheriff and lock up Ken. Clem, now a prisoner of Rawhide, has a change of heart and sends Ken a message with the outlaw's location. Ken escapes by impersonating the saloon entertainer and rides for the hangout.

A fast paced western starring Ken Maynard in dual roles and Cecilia Parker as the love interest. Very good plot, reasonable acting, and interesting. The credits mention "Tarzan," which happens to be Ken Maynard's horse.

Ken did a good job of pulling off the dual role of town sheriff, and the timid shopkeeper. In the thirties Ken was a major player in the "B" western genre, and this production was a notch higher than what was usually produced at the time. I'll give it five stars since it was one of the bettet westerns of the time.

Nobody is a Ken Marnard fan and he's not so hot in this one either. But the production quality is above average for this sort of film. The West is more realistic and the bad guys are really bad. It's the same brother against brother story that turns up in old westerns. In this one you can believe the bad brother is actually insane, and that's different. Better yet, someone paid attention to the scenery, it's very nice. If it wasn't for the star this would be a really good movie.

The plot stars Ken Maynard in a double roll and pits twin brothers against each other. One is Ken Bellamy, the sharp-shooting, two-fisted sheriff of the town who has a heavy thing going with beauty Ceciiia Parker (Mary Turner) (62 appearances between1930-84, best known as sister to Mickey Rooney's Andy Hardy). The other brother Clem is a cowering, timid storekeeper, secretly very jealous of Ken. Then there is the gang of murderous thieves led by Fred Kohler, with his lecherous grin, glinting, menacing eyes, and treacherous style. Maynard as Ken is a nice guy - hard to believe he's so tough…
