A little girl gets ready to take her pet cat to school for the pet show. As she washes, grooms, and eats breakfast, so does her kitty. Her friendly feline is loved by the other kids and awarded the winner's ribbon.

An attractive yet generically named cat is the main attraction in this personal hygiene film for young children. When Helen wakes up one morning, she glances at her calendar and is suddenly reminded that the day of the school pet show has arrived. Grabbing her feline companion Kitty, a competitor in the show, Helen saunters into the bathroom and begins cleaning her arms and face with a bar of soap and a washcloth while Kitty simply licks her fur in order to develop a prize-winning appearance. Odd film that compares a little girl named Helen and her cat, affectionately named Kitty, and their cleaning habits. Although this is narrated by Helen, the VOICE is clearly someone much much older doing a childÂs voice. Anyways, the minute Helen wakes up, she goes for the cat, (who wisely resists going with her) and off they go to the washroom to clean up. Uhhh, I donÂt like this where this is going. Next scene Helen has her shirt off amd we watch uncomfortably as Helen says to the cat, ÂYou want to watch me do you? before she washes up, shirtless. Rather strange. After this, Helen brushes…

An excrutiating hygine film aimed at 1st graders. The film tries, in an oh so cutsey manner, to draw the parallels between a little girl getting ready for school and a cat. Like most hygine films of the era, this one is very obsessive compulsive and dated. This does make good 'Bot fodder with its very annoying faux little girl narrator who says things like "It'd be easier if arms didn't go up all the way to my shoulders." But instead, a kitty and a kiddie getting washed up in a 1940's bathroom. Then, off to the pet show. This would have been better if Kitty went after the canary. Screaming kids and feathers flying around. Would have been a more exciting ending. Instead we just see a toothless kid. Tiresome. Speaking of this, did you know mother cat has to lick her kittens' anuses so they'll have a BM? You can watch them do that on Kitten Academy site.
