This is a somewhat trimmed version of the film as originally released, but it is the best print and color of it that I have ever seen. I have owned a copy of this film on tape in one form or another for about 20 years, and it is one of my favorites as I'm a big Bob Steele fan anyway. Steele is, well, Steele in this picture. Joan Woodbury, a "B" actress in the 30's 40's and into the 50's, is very attractive and peppery in this part and quite good. Her, Poodles Hanneford, and Madge Bellamy are the only ones who do any actual acting, though—the others render wooden performances, as though they were doing a script read-through rather than something they were actually going to print. Despite all of that, Bob Steel (as RCMP Matt O'Brien) makes obvious his distaste for Joan's character—at least at first.
