SATURDAY MATINEE AT THE BIJOU (kiddie matinee)

Okay typical western from the 1930s - good guy infiltrates the group of bad guys and takes care of business. However, atypical in that there is no love interest - even with lovely Joan Barclay present - and no stupid sidekick and, thankfully, not as much riding back and forth as usual. The film is filled with the ususal faces playing both good and bad guys - Ted Adams, Slim Whitaker,, Forrest Taylor, Ben Corbett, Karl Hackett, Frank LaRue and more.

I was one of those (eeu!) girls in the theater. I was in the balcony lobbing partly-chewed jujubees (small, light, and sticky) at selected people below. Loved the freedom! Loved the films! And, ya, It was very confusing and stressful why racism was so widely tolerated, but In the late 50s/early 60s, it was not 'OK' to even ask questions about it.
