Watch this for all the songs, they are good. The story is the same ole same ole, saving a stageline from going under due to the bad guys. So the story is not good. Bob and the Texas Playboys are great.

This film is a joy for fans of The King of Western Swing, Bob Wills. I agree with Jimelina- the plot line is mundane, but the good music is plentiful. I would have given it 5 stars for Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys alone, but the film was so cut and spliced up I had to take one star off.

A film in two parts - at least half, probably more - is devoted to music - either by songster Tex Ritter or by the great Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys or Ritter with the Playboys. There's even song and squeezebox accompaniment by Ritter's sidekick Slim Whitaker, who also provides a bit of humor.. Fortunately, the music is good. Wheezy old Bob McKenzie (Deacon Ames) also provides the humor. The rest of the film has to do with the deceitful nice guy, perennial villain Karl Hackett (Storm) trying to wrest control of the stagecoach contract from pretty Terry Walker (Jane Winters).
