Synopsis
The Fearmakers is a 1958 American film noir crime film directed by Jacques Tourneur and starring Dana Andrews. The screenplay is based on the 1945 novel of the same name by Darwin Teilhet. The film centers on seemingly nonpartisan political messages that are shaped by a public-relations firm secretly controlled by communists determined to undermine the American government.

. 🙂 Good Storyline about a POW come home to find his business in the hands of some shady characters and his partner dead. Andrews gruff and direct manner adds a raw nature to his films and magnifies the scope of their storylines. He has a quality that broadens our perspective about the humanity of the characters involved and their situations, our own even. Mel Torme makes his film debut, and as you might expect, plays a meek and soft spoken –minion–here anyhow– though I must admit, I've never seen him act before; never knew he acted... Worth A See.✍️
