Synopsis
As far as the rest of the world is concerned, mill heiress Deborah Chandler Clark is dead, killed in a freak auto accident. But Deborah is alive, if not too well. Having discovered a horrible truth about her new husband, Deborah is now a “woman in hiding,” living in mortal fear that someday her husband will catch up with her again. When a returning GI recognizes Deborah, however, she must decide whether or not she can trust him.

Lupino delivers a riveting performance with Duff the laidback, likeable hero and McNally playing the charming, yet ruthless, cold-blooded villain. Love the period fashions of the day and those cars!

Hostage taking, woman on the run,”homme fatale” - what more could Noire fan ask for. A thriller from start to finish. I was always enamored with Ida Luppino as a child watching the TV show she and Howard Duff put together. She was an amazing actress, producer and director. Films like this will allow her to live forever.
