Gene Autry's films of the 1930s tend to get formulaic - trading on his popularity as a vocal artist, Autry cut out an easy path for himself - movies with lots of singing and with a western drama sandwiched between the songs. Aside from riding, falling off his horse (no doubt done by a stunt double) and an occasional fight or quick draw - IMDB says 12 stunt people were used in this movie, including 1 woman - Autry talks and sings - a lot.
